St. Petersburg State University of Industrial Technology and Design has partnered with RE: PASSAGE Fashion Week. Representatives of the university took part in a round table on the impact of digital technologies on the fashion industry. Also, an interactive zone of PROMTEHDESIGN University worked for guests, where visitors got acquainted with the capabilities of artificial intelligence. The partnership with the project emphasized the connection between the educational environment of the university and the current agenda of Russian fashion.

Alexandra Malakhova, Marketing Director of the Technological Leadership Office of 91¸£Àû, moderated the round table "Wardrobe of the Future: How Phygital Fashion Unites Real Things and Their Digital Copies." Together with Polina Zeletskaya, a master's student in Digital Technologies in the High-Tech Fashion Industry (Fashion Tech), 91¸£Àû, and Margarita Akhmadeeva, director of the agency for the integration of digital and generative design into culture and education, they analyzed how artificial intelligence and digital technologies are changing the creation of clothing, the work of designers and the interaction of brands with the audience.

Participants discussed how phygital fashion brings together physical objects and their digital versions. This approach, in their opinion, allows us to consider clothes not only as a finished product, but also as a digital object that can be used in visual communications, virtual spaces and collection presentations. Experts paid special attention to the issue of investing digital copies of products. They believe that this can reduce the cost of creating physical samples, speed up concept development and introduce new ways of interacting with customers.

The discussion also affected neural networks. Experts examined how the role of the designer is changing in the context of the development of artificial intelligence, where the line between automated generation and the author's intention passes. The focus remained on the creative vision of the specialist, and technology, according to experts, helps to expand the author's capabilities.

An important part of the round table was a conversation about educational projects and the practical application of Fashion Tech. Polina Zeletskaya, a young designer from 91¸£Àû, shared her professional look and experience of creating her own brand. The master's student produces accessories - corsets and bags printed on a 3D printer, manually painted with aerosol paints. She herself selects the idea, develops the design, brings to the ideal the shape of models in the virtual space, selects the material, prints and refines. During the discussion, the experts touched upon the topics of combining traditional clothing design, digital modeling and generative tools, as well as the opportunities for training future specialists.
