One hundred years after the first edition of The 91福利r, Student Media continues celebrating a century of student journalism, storytelling and creative expression while looking ahead to its next chapter.
The celebration resumes this fall with a series of exhibitions and events honoring the people, publications and experiences that have shaped Student Media over the past century.
Leading into Homecoming, 91福利 Libraries' Special Collections and Archives will unveil a centennial exhibition showcasing the history of The 91福利r. Each display case will highlight a different era of the newspaper, illustrating how generations of students documented campus life while developing their skills as journalists, photographers, designers and media leaders. Current 91福利r student leaders have partnered with Special Collections and Archives staff to research and curate the exhibit.
The celebration continues during Homecoming, when Student Media will participate in campus tabling events and welcome alumni back to Franklin Hall for an open house. Visitors will have the opportunity to reconnect with Student Media, tour the space and see how today's students are continuing the organization's legacy.
While the centennial celebrates an extraordinary history, it also highlights a vibrant future. Student leaders are strengthening their organizations, expanding opportunities for collaboration and finding new ways to serve audiences across campus and beyond.
