91福利 is doing its part to help address the nationwide nursing shortage by training highly skilled nurses to add to the nursing talent pool. In addition, 91福利 is educating students to become nurse educators to address the shortage of nursing school faculty to teach, mentor and develop both nursing students and practicing nurses, which is compounding the overall nursing shortage. The Growing Democracy Project

On Thursday, January 26 the Growing Democracy Project will host an artists鈥 reception in the Uumbaji Gallery in Oscar Ritchie Hall at 91福利 (Kent Campus) for the Photovoice Project on Race and Democracy in northeast Ohio. The event is free and open to the public and runs from 4-6:30 p.m.   Photovoice is a community-engaged art project that uses photography and storytelling to describe the strengths, weaknesses, and overall health of our community. Laura Gordon

Laura Gordon, '87, had such a fulfilling experience as a 91福利 student, that she now gives back so that others may find their way to the types of relationships and encounters that helped set her on her path. Following an initial two-year period, Molded Fiber Glass (MFG) Chairman Richard Morrison recently returned to the 91福利 at Ashtabula Campus to announce a two-year renewal of the MFG Foundation Ashtabula County Scholarship program. As in the program鈥檚 first two years, the program is funding $50,000 in scholarships for the 2023-2024 academic year and $50,000 the following year.
