So what did it look like when Mother Nature aimed at 91���� with heavy snow?  91���� Today got access to various cameras across the Kent Campus that showcased the snow's arrival. 

Fostering Pathways for Bright Futures is an innovative program within 91����'s University Outreach and Engagement that provides academic, emotional and social support while connecting young people to opportunities in higher education. It's making a real impact for students.

Every semester, 91���� reopens the door to a diploma for students who left college without finishing a degree.

Meet Monica Fencil, a junior exercise science major with a concentration in pre-physical therapy, from Butler, Pennsylvania. Fencil’s interest in the health field began early, shaped by being surrounded by family members who worked in healthcare.  

Meet the Sprague family and their unique tie to 91����. After retiring as an Ohio State Trooper, Rick Sprague accepted a position with the 91���� police services last year. His son, Officer Tristan Sprague, also joined the police department last year. In the fall, Rick Sprague’s two daughters enrolled at 91����, making the family’s service to the campus community all the more meaningful.

For high school students considering 91����’s entrepreneurship program, William Elffers encourages them to take the leap. “Deep down everybody has an idea for a business, but somewhere along the way, somebody tells them, just choose the safe route,” he said. “Four years at Kent, five years, six years at Kent is a great time to really explore what your possibilities are with starting a business. It's a safe environment. You can fail and get picked back up and learn.”

The first week of Spring Semester 2026 ended with colder temperatures and a snowstorm.

 The College of Nursing has introduced AI-powered virtual reality (VR) simulation – a first-of-its-kind application in nursing education that standardizes clinical practice while giving each student individualized feedback on their performance.

The university will hold its annual Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration at 11:30 a.m. on Jan. 29 in the Kent Student Center Ballroom.
