Benefit exclusions

Like any insurance, this life and AD&D insurance policy does have exclusions. 

For life insurance, a suicide exclusion may apply.

For AD&D, benefits won’t be paid if death/dismemberment occurs as the result of:

Lincoln Long-term Disability Coverage: Plan 2

Long-term Disability Information

Eligibility: All eligible full-time 9 month, 10 month, and 12 month employees electing Plan 2.

Contribution: You pay the cost of your coverage.

Coverage amount: 60% of your monthly earnings to a maximum of $6,000 per month.

Elimination period: 180 days.

Evidence of insurability: A health statement may be required.

Pre-existing conditions: 3 months lookback; 12 months after effective date of coverage.

Lincoln Long-term Disability Coverage: Plan 1

Long-term Disability Information

Eligibility: All eligible full-time 9 month, 10 month, and 12 month employees electing Plan 1.

Contribution: You pay the cost of your coverage.

Coverage amount: 50% of your monthly earnings to a maximum of $6,000 per month.

Elimination period: 180 days.

Evidence of insurability: A health statement may be required.

Pre-existing conditions: 3 months lookback; 12 months after effective date of coverage.

Fee Waivers

Waivers will not be granted for space or equipment rental charges.  In the interest of fairness and equity, we are obligated to apply rental rates fairly and consistently. We would never want to be perceived as offering a discount to one group, but not all.

False Declarations/Fronting

University departments and student organizations may not use their privileges to access space or equipment for non-university organizations, third parties, or commercial entities to avoid fees or receive reduced fees.  False declarations or fronting will result in an adjustment of all fees to the appropriate rate category. 

Long-term disability insurance overview

Long-term disability insurance pays you a portion of your salary while you’re away from work or recovering from a covered illness or injury.

Eligibility: All eligible full-time 9 month, 10 month, and 12 month employees electing for this coverage.

Contribution: You pay the cost of your coverage.

Coverage amount: A percentage of your monthly earnings to a maximum of $6,000 per month (depending on which plan you elect).

Student Organizations

Because students pay the student center fee each semester, student organizations events are never charged for space and equipment, except for when they are partnering with an external organization and providing shared access to university space.
